Beam and field angle

The Beam and field angle feature can calculate beam and field angle and lumens under these angles from an IES or Eulumdat file intensity distribution.

The Beam and field angle calculation is not available in the free version.

More information about Beam and field angles is available in the Knowledgebase section.

How to use

To use the Beam and field angle feature, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Select your IES or Eulumdat file from the loaded files.
  2. The Beam and field angle calculation feature is available in EVALUATION menu (see Note 1).
  3. The declared beam angle and field angle are shown in the proper section (see Note 2).
  4. The beam and field lumen are shown in the proper section (see Note 3).

Note 1: The Beam and field angle calculation is available just for the Lamp, Indoor luminaire, and Flood luminaire. It cannot be interpreted as an Outdoor luminaire.

Note 2: The declared angle is the average of the Ellipse's long and short axes. In that case, if the difference is too high between the long and short axis, the declared angle will be in the following form: 23° X 52°

Note 3: The beam and field lumen are the luminous flux under the declared beam and field angle.
